I don't know about the CD multichanger thing but there are more threads than a Turkish carpet on this site about the subject, so a quick search should get you a response.
The front washers need more than a brief tug of the control stalk: if you just pull it towards you briefly, all you'll get is a squirt of water. Hold it there a bit longer and the wipers should start: then release the stalk. The wipers will do three or four sweeps, park, and then do one final sweep about 10 seconds later. The final sweep caught me by surprise when I first bought my 147 but it's a very thoughtful feature, as it clears away the few little droplets that always start migrating over the screen if you're driving at speed. The rear wiper starts straight away, however - but then follows a similar pattern of operation.
