Motor Controle System Failure

When i drive my car and the rpm reaches 4000 RPM my car jurks, loses all power and you cant rev the enging above 2000 RPM and the Engin light comes on Displaying " Motor Control System Failure ". After that i need to stop switch off the egnition and start the car again and then its gone ( Every thig is back to normal ).

It started doing this out of the blue one night, never had this problem befor.

Any ideas on what this is?

Re: Motor Controle System Failure

dogdy MAF maybe?
Lambda sensors?

Anyhow, take it to a garage and get them to diagnose tha fault. All faults are stored in the cars ecu so even if the yellow engine light insnt on when you take it to the garage they will still be able to give you an idea of what has been going wrong.

Re: Motor Controle System Failure

It sounds like a cam sensor, as what was said above i would get it diagnosed for sure.
