Re: Read Ended
I had to claim from the MIB when I was re-ended by an uninsured driver (ie he and his feral mates nicked it!).
I was hit in Nov 2007, and I'm still waiting.
This was after getting some 'no win, no fee', legal company to do everything for me. This ended up being, we'll take 25% of the award, but 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
Went to see a physio (on their dollar) to confirm the extent of my injuries, and arrange rehabilitation.
My insurer's were right B'Stards. Left me without a car over Xmas, wrote mine off (and got rid of most of it in bits) WITHOUT letting me know, took TWO lots of excess (they made 2 claims for front and rear damage), which invalidated my PROTECTED NCB, and then took the remaining 50 weeks premium due out of the settlement figure (which I had already borrowed to spend on getting a new car), which meant I was £600 overdrawn!!
It makes me sick that the people who work hard and buy insurance, MOT their car and try and look after it get shafted by i. low life scum who have little else to do, and ii. the financial institutions that are happy to double your premium for a no-fault accident, but not pay out when you need it!
Phew, ranting is good for you.
Summary, get your insurance (and police) involved. They'll do a better job than you (unless you have a group of heavy set mates, with bats and tools), things could go from bad to worse if this 'fellow' does the dirty!
