Is it wrong to feel good that I am not alone with my problem?????
This thread describes the exact problem I've been having. When it went in to garage, they diag'd it and reported MAF sensor error. £260 later, replaced MAF and intermitment power loss in low revs still there. Aaargh!
Went back in, and they changed air filter, checked and cleaned air lines, took out the EGR and gave it a good clean. They said that lines were ok, filter was old and in need of replacing, and EGR was caked in soot. After this, car drove OK for a week, but then low and behold, same problem returned
At least they did this lot for free
I have been reading threads on here since, and been undecided if the problem could be the EGR or if it is something else. I had a turbo hose split last year (yes the earthing stud) and had that replaced.
Given that the EGR clean seemed to improve things, even for a short while, maybe this is the problem after all and a clean is only a very short term solution. In for an MOT next week, so I will ask for a new EGR to be fitted at that time. Hope this is the answer, as cant help but have fears of turbo problem
Also read about MAPs, Lambda sensors, VNT solenoids etc. Being a techno phobe, doesnt help to read of so many possibles. Oh, and I keep getting MCSF coming (if I push it under load), and going (5 starts and clears).
You cant help but love the car, but this is driving me round the bend!
