48 hours since I had my new EGR valve fitted, and so far so good. Hope I am not tempting fate, but it is like having my old car back.
Looks like the new MAF I had fitted (£250) was never the problem, as this EGR seems to have returned power to normal. Had a remap a month back whilst experiencing the intermitent problems, so also now seeing the real benefit from that too. I love my car again
Also passed the MOT (5yr old now, 40k miles). Had an occassional squeek from suspension, so was expecting an expensive fail there, but obviously not as bad as I expected.
Anyway, for anyone with loss of power problems, I would advise addressing EGR first and not make the same mistake as I did with MAF. I should add that when I had EGR cleaned, that only bought me a week without problems, so not convinced a fault EGR can be corrected that way
