to my mind, the best way i can put it is this.. (as to my understanding)
a technician will change your starter motor. a mechanic will strip it down, and put new brushes in it to make it work again. (if you see where i am going with this)
army guys are mechanics - they repair the vehicles in the field with the minimum of parts by stripping everything, technicians diagnose faulty parts, then replace them.
you decide what's best..............
Rotate the words "Mechanic" and "Technician" and you would be correct. A technician is what a mechanic becomes after further training.
As for having 2 HND's and having issues, I prefer to turn the nuts rather than sit on them all day, being a limp wristed desk jockey does not appeal to me, I like to be in there finding the problem and geting the results.
