cv boot replacement

hi. i noticed that one of the outer cv boots is split on our alfa. is it just a case of undoing the centre hub nut, putting the steering on full lock and sliding the driveshaft out of the hub? or do i need to undo the bottom hub mount to remove the shaft from the hub?

also does the outer cv joint just knock off of the shaft or is it more complicated?

many thanks

Re: cv boot replacement

The driveshaft will need to come off the car and then you can just knock the CV off the end.
