Re: trade sale

If you mean warrant the car i.e give a dealer's warranty the ansawer is a grey area.
If the dealer put's on the invoice "sold as seen no warranty given or implied, spare's or repair" he doesn't.
If they put "Trade Sale" etc it's a sticky wicket, he doesn't in theory but, i do know of trader's who have sold a car as Trade but ended up being taken to court and losing, in one case a Polo bought for 150.00with 110,000 mls.
Alway's make the point clear when buying a "Trade" car, especialy on paperwork.

Re: trade sale

It's not clear what you want to know.... However, take a look at the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. If it is someone in the course of a business that has entered into a contract with you (i.e offer accepted, consideration given and both parties have intended to create legal relations); then you have certain protections under the act, specifically implied terms (goods willcorrespond with description given, goods will be of satisfactory quality, reasonable fit for the purpose which the buyer makes known....).

Re: trade sale

if you want to sell your car sell it as 'Sold as Seen' with clearly defined faults

i'll gladly check out your car before oyu take any drastic action.

it might be sorted for a few quid rather than wasting your money getting a bad price for it.
