Please Help !! Water in Boot
I posted a problem with condensation in my 156 a month ago!
I had all the carpets out with no water/dampness identified
I have just put the complete car on axle stands at work and removed wheels to change discs and pads, while in the boot i removed the space saver and found no water in the wheel well, i then decided to unclip all the carpet in the boot and remove.
When sticking my hand in and up the rear pillar area above the wheel arch and in the void up towards the roof there is plenty of water/condensation on the metal, slightly lower down where you can just see with the eye there is a lot of damp grit almost like it is muck/spray getting in when being driven in the rain, there is no water at the lowest point in this are though.
I have searched the forums and looked at the sun roof drain pipes, i can blow up this pipe from within the wheel arch and it is un obstructed, i did recently jet wash the car and wondered if this drain pipe could come away at the sunroof end? Where would the water go if this was the case?
I dont think this would explain the damp silty mud in a location that should be dry, i have removed the wheel arch liner and had a close look but cannot see where water could get in.
A lot of questions guys but i have borrowed some floor space to do the brakes and would like to sort this before i have to replace the wheels and remove the car.
Please help !!!!
