156 alarm / volumetric sensors / locking problems
I've recently just brought an Alfa 156. It has a few problems, which I am told are 'normal' but to me it such a problem that if there is no resolve for this, I honestly think I'll have to get rid of the car, and Alfas will drop off the scale in terms of respect for me, so I hope someone can help.
Problem 1: If I leave the window open, and lock the car, the alarm goes off. Presumably this a problem due to the volumetric sensors not knowing the window is open? Which has never been an issue on every other car I've ever owned, including convertables. So how do either modify it to detect the window is open? or disable it?
This is a major problem as I have dogs, and I have never come across this issue on any car before.
Problem 2: I'm a photographer and have lots of equipment to shift, and once again if the car is locked and I open the boot to either remove or put in equipment the alarm keeps going off, presumably again because of this volumetric sensor.
Problem 3. As I said I have a lot of equipment and normally I'll not have a hand free once I have removed the gear. Therefore if the doors are unlocked I want to lock them with the boot open, so all I have to door is slam the boot shut with my shoulder, but the doors will not lock with the boot open.
So any ideas how to overcome these problems? I've no objection to modifying the car in anyway neccesary.
