i kinda agree that the shift pattern should b the reverse. Makes more sense pulling back to upshift, but on the other hand, when ur on it, it feels so good to pull back to downshift and hear the sweet electro heel-toe.
Re the Mercs tipshift, my mums SLK has that feature, and its actually more intuative then u may think. While driving it doesnt feel awkward at all, very natural, and respone to input is just as quick as the sele too. There would b a problem tho if uve got a pot belly laughing
Re reversing the Alfas shift, if its simply an electronic connection, it could be done. If however, the gearstick is directly linked to the internals of the box, which im betting on, id say find a new project LOL
Its funny tho how BMW have the SMG as push - downchange, pull - upchange now. If i remember correctly our 96 E36 M3 SMG was the Alfa way around eek! What Alfa should do is code in a launch mode. I feel bad for the dude who bought our old e36, me and my bro killed it with the quick LC getaways from the lights
Not good to hear the paint is peeling off the padels. I encountered a similar prob with my steering wheel buttons, where the + felt started to wear off. I was given a new steering wheel under warranty....mad since my old wheel was all polished with wear
