Right just to recap, Alternator went, had replaced then drove for about a mile,power went immobiliser code fault displayed as well as ASR and ABS but we knew about them already.Only have one key, not master, most of the gubbings ie. battery holder and battery missing but the RAC guy checked and there is a chip in there.Car has been jump started which I believe may have spiked the ECU. Have disconnected and charged battery, touched together battery wires whilst disconnected, undone and reattached plug around ignition barrel for antenna, moved steering wheel up and down several times,turned ignition on for 40 seconds then removed key and then tried to start, taken off panel looking for yellow box (code reader) but can't find it, don't know where ECU is situated let alone what earth to look for. Can anybody help at all ? please
