I've now had my GT for about a month & previously had a 3.2 Brera, so some may find the move to a GT a bit strange.
So what do I miss about the Brera?
Well, it had a fair bit more ooomph, though a remap on my GT may well happen quite soon.
I think the Brera still has a bit more "wow! factor", but then again, I've already had about 3 comments on how lovely my GT looks from total strangers.
The Brera feels more solidly put together & is more planted around country lane corners.
The Brera wheels were easier to clean, & it had electric/folding wing mirrors which were great for my company car parks narrow bays, & a rear wiper which was handy when reversing on winter days.
Well, mine is an 06 1.9jtd, so it does at least twice
It still pulls pretty well & as I said, a remap should help a fair bit.
I find the front seats more comfy, my kids can easily fit in the rear seats (they hated the rear of the Brera), & my GT has quite a few toys loaded, eg heated seats/ Xenon lights/ built in sat-nag & phone, an i-pod connector/auto wipers, all of which my Brera didn't have.
It still has a very healthy dose of "Feelgood factor", I still look over my shoulder every time I walk away from it & imho, its a helluva lot of car for the money.
What would I rather have for the £10k or so?
I tried a Golf gti. Nice, but I'd never get to fall in love with it,
& an Audi A4 3ltr convertible. Again very nice but it just didn't suit me, somehow.
So, I'll put up with the badly designed head-rests, the "last gen. build quality" & the 147 style dash, which I actually really like, thank you very much, get a remap, find a local specialist for servicing & be another big-time fan of the GT.
