Re: Living with a GT Coupe
A lovely list and very true for my 3.2 GT.
I too did have a very annoying squeak "somewhere in the rear of the car". I fiddled and fiddled with the rear seats, but the garage pointed out that it was the "bump stops" on the boot (look under each side of the boot door). They were squeaking over road humps.
Incidentally, I have given up trying to “straddle” those annoying three-part road humps as I always make an awful scraping sound.
Also, in the snow and ice (isn’t powerful front wheel drive fun?) the window iced shut and when I tried to drop it did not move. I think I strained something in the window motor as for several days afterwards the window lowered and raised in six even movements, requiring me to push or pull the button six times. The 10 second trick reset it! An unusual default position which I assume has failed-safe to a point where you (or your dog or child) will have to try very hard to throttle themselves!
I'm off to find a thread about clutches and gearboxes as my garage have, after replacing the clutch, exploded the gear box on the road test. I suspect it is too much of a coincidence to be a unliklely gearbox failure!
