Rear Brake Cables

I have had a rumbling noice from the rear offside wheel of late - when I got under it there was nothing that I could see or find loose so I continued on (thinking me just being paranoid) but this morning the rear break cable broke. I am now wondering if they have had anything to do with each other or is it me just being paranoid ?

So now I have brake cable(s) to fit are there any tips, pitfalls to avoid, or advice than any one can inpart.

It is a 2005 1.9JTDm SW

Re: Rear Brake Cables

I did one handbrake cable last year on mine and can it was one of the easiest jobs I have ever done on a car, unclip both ends and the supporting clips then replace no problems with access or anything. Rumbling noise would usually point to a wheel bearing.
