White marks on the belt have no resemblence to anything other than the arrows which must point in the direction of rotation.
The 1.8 TS uses the same blocks as the 2.0.
with the inlet cam pulley, ensure it's in the middle of it's travel when loose and fiting the belt and feed the belt onto the pulleys from the crank, over the idler round the exhaust and so on, set the tension then tighten the pulley bolts, remove the blocks, rotate the engine by the crank bolt TWICE till it returns to TDC (if you go past it rotate it twice more), refit the blocks to ensure the cams are correct and check the tension arrow, remove the timing blocks and refit the cam caps and spark plugs etc.
