Precisely as my Turbo, unit done 8000 miles since original Alfa Romeo exchange unit was fitted.
We only have the car since October.
Turbo looks like new with the green quality control sticker in Italian too.
The sticker appears more durable then the Turbo.
Same problems, accelerates fine to 3000rpm then slight hesitation but revs a little more and engine check light comes on.
Food off the accelerator and light goes off.
Replaced; MAF (new Bosch unit used), VNT solenoid, Crank Sensor, Cam sensor, all vacuum pipes.
Checked the Turbo pipes twice, fitted new clamps on refit.
Cleaned the MAP sensor 3 times, EGR blocked off.
Car appears louder than it used to be but put that down to EGR blocked off.
I ordered a new MAP sensor from Fiat, should be here today some time. £68 plus VAT
Wonder if the old MAP shows more boost then there actually is?
If it does, it would pull the Turbo back down before full boost is reached (moment of hesitation).
If Boost is still too high (according to the doggy MAP sensor), the ECU will cut fuel supply to protect the engine and the engine warning light comes on.
Once you take the foot off the accelerator over boost is gone and light goes out.
I be messing with that fault since December, it drives me mad.
Totally odd; if itís nice and warm like 20c the problem is less pronounced.
