Poorly GT Blackline
I have been driving a 147 JTDM for just over 2 years, and in that time the only major issue was EGR valve, and eventually a new Turbo, but all covered by Warranty.
4 weeks ago, one of the managers at work left, and I "traded-up" to his GT Blackline. Everything was fine until today on my way to work.
I made a gear change from 3rd to 4th, but it didn't feel right, the next thing I know is that the car is blowing white smoke and the engine is racing. I pulled onto the verge and removed the key, but the engine kept running at 6,000rpm. Eventually it exhausted it's own fuel supply and came to a very quiet stop.
People have suggested that it could be:-
1) too much oil, don't think this is the case as it was serviced 3 weeks ago by a reputable garage.
2) faulty injector dumping fuel straight into the engine
3) Turbo gone and engine run on its own oil.
Has anyone else here had similar with an Alfa or any other car. IF it was a new Alfa was it sorted out okay under warranty.
I want my car back!!!!
