I'm having quite a few issues with my 147 and wondered if this was common, or whether I have a bit of a lemon?
My cabin heater cycles from hot to cold and so far I've spent £300 on a new thermostat and temperature sender....niether made any difference.
Possibly related, the engine coolant doesn't appear to be moving. Apparently you're supposed to be able to see it flow through the top up tank but mine just sits there bubbling away. The water hoses are under high pressure too, you can barely squeeze them when the engines running. Possibly needs a new water pump? I have it booked in for next week.
Also possibly related the fan doesn't cut in when engines hot. It does work though, if the temperature sender is disconected it runs all the time.
Various errors on the dashboard. VDC Error, ABS Error, Water in Diesel Fuel Filter, ABS, MCU Error when accelerating hard. Max Water Temperature reached (Analouge gauge rapidly goes up to 130, then back to 90.....only above 60 MPH though???)
To top it all, and I know this has nothing to do with the car being an Alfa, I had the windscreen changed last Friday. I washed the car on Saturday and when I went to get I had a puddle on the drivers seat and the roof lining was saturated. Taking it back today to get it fixed which is fine, but it's just one more thing chipping away at my love for the car.
Is this normal?
