We just had the belt and pump done on our 2005 GT JTD at 54K miles, this because of the strange noise coming from the belt area, belt was OK but the pump was 75% knackered. Just to top that I couldn't get it into gear last week and we found ourselves in need of a new clutch as well, I did that myself, because of the cost. I was suprised to find that the flywheel was in excellent condition, so was relieved at saving the cost of that. I should point out that this has all stemmed from the fact that this is my other half's car and I have a Vectra as a company hack and this is basically the same engine and has had all the above let go at some point, the clutch and flywheel was that bad that you could not stand next to the car if it was running and hold a conversation. All servicing done by a main dealer since new, car is now at 62K miles and the same age as the GT. Just got a set of tyres to find before the Milan trip! what joy, I was set to buy a BMW until she saw the GT. makes me wonder if the Gt was such a nice car after all, can't afford to sell it now, so one of the kids will inherit it. I just hope the drive to Milan will prove to be enjoyable.
