Re: Waterpump/belt failure on the JTD 16v engines
Is there a better pump available for the JTD's? I know that on the V6 24V engines the old one had a plastic impeller and the new one a metall impeller. When you get the waterpump done you should get the new pumpo with metallic impeller. But I don't know if it is the same with the JTD's. Any one who knows?
Here in Sweden the intervall for cambelt change is 38000 miles and/or 3 years. This is for the 156/147/GT. The 159 with the "same" engine(1,9 150hp) and cambelt have 75000miles and/or 5 years. My workshop checked the spareparts for the different engines, and the only difference was that the 159 had got a new cambelt(same length though). Tensioners and bearings were the same.
