Help Fitting Front 156 Suspension Strut

Need help fitting the lower suspension strut to the left side of my 2001 156.

Is it possible to fit without removing the lower arm?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: Help Fitting Front 156 Suspension Strut

if you are placing that part in the picture [ i call it a tuning fork ] then YES.

jack up both sides
wheel off
open drop link
open long 19mm bolt/nut
open 10mm HEX head bolt
remove brake pipe & abs cable out of the way.
open the joint at the 17mm nut of upper wishbone
hammer the unit downwards

you may need to press the lower wishbone downwards to get more clearance.

now this tuning fork can be taken out & replaced.

the hex headed bolt could be ceased & require replacement, M12 x 50mm [ iirc ] will do as a replacement.

use copper grease when re-assembling.
