The incompetance of the Peugeot Service Department was quite funny in retrospect.
The 307 started running on 3 cylinders in the cold morning. Took it to dealership and after 3 days there, they diagnosed faulty plug!!!
Got the 307 back after 4 days. Drove it the next day and found the same problem. Quite rant so I took it to another dealer close to my house. They started the diagnosis while I was in the Service Department Waiting Room. The Service Manager comes in and informs that they have now stopped working on the car as they have seen the repair invoice of the fault from the original dealership....here's the killer part:
The Service Manager says:
"You'll have to take the car back to the dealership that originally tried to fix the car. Its their responsibility. If they don't know how to fix these things get in contact with Sim Derby (Australian Distributor. We are not in the business of cleaning other dealer's *****."
eek! eek! eek!
So I was sent back on the road with a 3 cylinder car back to the first dealer. There, they apologised and informed me that the mechanic had made a mistake and swapped out the incorrect Spark Plug.
2 Days later (Had to wait 2 days for a genuine spark plug!!!) I was told to pick up the car. So drove home only to find smoke pouring out of the bottom of the car with a pool of oil.
Called Tow Truck and back to dealership. 1000 Apologies later, I found that the mechanic had thought my car was there for a service and had started to unscrew the oil filter. But midway through he was informed that it was the spark plug only that needed changing. So what does he do? Forgets to retightend the oil filter....you can guess the rest.
I went nuts at the service manager...
I gave them the choice of keeping me as a customer if they were willing to swap the car for another 2.0 307 for a reasonable changeover cost. They gave me an absolutely stupid changeover price....so I told them to shove it and traded the 307 for a Inca Blue Selespeed 147.
My wife and I could not be happier with her 147. Its so wonderful. Much more refined than mine
