GT Coupe - door sill protection

Apologies in advance if this has been asked before.

After having a couple of 33s in my younger days, I am getting back to Alfa ownership with a shiny GT Coupe which I collect this weekend. I have always intended to get another Alfa and cant wait. As much as I liked my old 33s (especially the Ti), I am a fan of the newer Alfa looks.

The car is a 2006, and is quite low mileage. However when ‘doing the deal’ with the garage I noticed that the paint work was damaged on the door sills – worst along the edge of the shaped profile at the bottom of the door way. As part of the deal, this is being rectified before I collect.

I am naturally keen to avoid this happening again. The doorway has a kick pate, but it does not seem to cover the area which has been damaged.

Has anyone else seen this? Any advice to prevent it re-occuring? Is there any other protectors which can be bought for this? Has anyone tried protective film – if so, where would I get this, and any fitting tips?

Re: GT Coupe - door sill protection

I think i've got a smilar scuff mark on one of my sills..... passengers getting out the back is the main cause i think.

Not seen anything to protect it though.
