Re: vibration/banging noise
Worst case is worn out driveshafts which are common on the 2.4 20V the spiders on the inner ends of the outer driveshafts (I say that for both sides alltough the N/S only has the 1 shaft, when really the O/S has an extended diff cup really) wear out the diff cups and they knock as load is taken up and released.
Best case is the lower or upper engine mount bushes have just worn out, but very rare.
The second best case scenario is that you need a new anti roll bar on the front, yes it may only be worn bushes, but itf they are dry and worn then the bar will be ground down inside them and this will only grind down the new bushes should you only fit them.
Worst case images below,
Pic 1, Worn out cup, see the groves?
Pic 2, Worn Spider, this one is so morn the wheels fell off hen I removed it from the cup.
Pic 3, This is the worst of the worst cases I've dealt with so far, COMPLETE O/S driveshaft replacement, EVERY part was severely worn.
