Hi, I just returned from the dealer where I left my car. The only two offical problems that are acknowledged by Alfa at the moment are:
1) possible problem with the sticking variable air intake
2) some connection of the lambda-sonde that has to be replaced or repositioned (don't ask what it means
The mechanic told me that the wining noise might be 'normal' for JTS engines. The noise might be caused because the fuel is injected with high speeds or something like that. I hear it mostly between 3100 and 4000 RPM in 5th gears which is approx between 120 and 150kph. It's not very loud but annoying when driving for a while. I think I am going to arrange a drive with any other JTS at some dealer just to check if that one makes the same sound.

I do have a strange problem tho, when the Car is ticking over I can feel a slight knocking vibration thro the clutch pedal. I have only ever felt this on Diesel cars and put it down to the typical clatter that Diesels have. I am a bit disapointed to feel it from a petrol engine.
Is this anything to do with the direct injection system do you think?, or is just a reletively lumpy Engine?. In general I dont think it spins as smooth as my old Twin Spark did. Whats yours like?
