The yellow is supposed to get permanent 12V from your car, and the yellow ignition switch power. If you connect both the yellow wire, on the red, you will have your Sony powered only when the ignition is on. (make sure first that the red wire does not get 12V after you turn off the ignition. There is a power cable at the car's stereo connector which has power for 20minutes after you turn off the ignition, this is for 147s but i suppose the facelifted 156s have it also.)
From electrical point of view, its healthy to turn of the device from its power switch, and not by cutting off its power suddenly (by turning off your ignition). If you wire your Sony like you wish, its better to turn it on by its ON/OFF button after turning on the engine, and turn your Sony off, before you turn off your engine.
