The DEC Superscan, with Italian car module, does everything the Fiat examiner does, including resetting the Block Learn cells and idle actuator. You can test each actuator, ie: variable inlet geometry manifold solenoid, variator solenoid, cooling fans, fuel pump, etc. You can drive the car with the program running on a laptop (with an observer keeping an eye on the displays) that covers:
target idle speed
maximum engine speed
calculated airflow rate
airflow meter voltage
intake air temperature
accelerator pedal position
throttle valve absolute position
throttle valve relative position
evaporative control valve opening
lambda sensor integrator
lambda sensor status
and one or two other less important items.
Connects in seconds, does fiat/lancia/alfa up to something like mid-2002. I bought one because I got the car so cheap I couldn't afford not to, but it's pricey at £1520 including VAT. Apparently it's aimed at non-franchised specialist dealers, phone Maverick Technologies, they have a web site with info.
I tried AutoTap but of course it's not KeyWordProtocol 2000 compatible so I'm waiting for them to bring out an update. AutoTap allows you to real-time log, where the DEC only allows you to take 'snapshots', but at least these cover all the items I listed above.
