Have not had a chance to post since I received my 156, too busy showing it off
It's a beautiful 2000 reg. silver 2.0 l TSpark, with, I think, Sportspack 2. Sportspack 2 includes side skirts, carbon-fibre centre console, 5 pot alloys, sports seats and suspension lowered by 2 cm. 34,00 miles on the clock.
Anyway, I absolutely adore the car. A big leap over the Fiesta I had. Of course I am aware of the various bits of bad press the Alfa's have received, but it did not put me off. I bought the car through a Ford garage and it is guaranteed for 12 months.
There are just two little niggles that I need your help on.
Firstly, and I believe this is not really a problem, just the way the car works. Acceleration is fairly standard between 1000 and 3000 revs, and then it really kicks in. As I said, I think this may just be the how the engine is set up. I don't mean that there is no power lower down, just that there is a fairly big difference when you get to 3,000 revs. Is this the same with most of the 2.0l TSparks.
The second problem is a rattle, or noise/vibration, whatever you want to call it. I get a vibration, sounds like it is coming from underneath the car when the revs hit a certain amount. It is noticeable when changing gear, when the engine revs drop down to the next gear. It is also noticeable when allowing the car to slow down using engine braking (I mean taking your foot off the accelerator and allowing the car to slow). The revs come down slowly and when it hits a certain number of RPM, you can just hear this bit of rattle/fast ticking noise.
I know I can't expect everything to be perfect, however while the car is guaranteed, I want to make sure I get these little things sorted.
Other than these two points, I am in love with the car. The difference in driving to work every day is unbelieveable.
I will post a few pics tomorrow when I get a chance and you can let know what you think,
Thanks again all,
