156 saloon full respray

Hi everyone i have a 156 and its currently in silver, there is a few scratches which will require some work so i was worried about colour matches ect so i was thinking about changing the colour to black, nothing special just metalic black, and was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost.

Re: 156 saloon full respray

Prices start about £500. That can be a good job if you do the preparation.

I wouldn't worry about the silver colour match. I inherited a silver car that had been resprayed and it was hard to tell it had been done at all.

If you go black it will scratch back to silver and you'll have to think about the engine bay, the door shuts, inside the bonnet, the inside of the boot etc. etc. making the job much more expensive / time consuming.

I turned a brown car black a few years ago. It had to be done where silver is a good colour IMHO.

Silver is easy to match.

A respray with a colour change will cost a lot and unless you TOTALLY strip the car, there will still be silver areas making it very obvious.

Re: 156 saloon full respray

most colours need to be blown in.

The cost of wafting over both sides of the car is going to be minimal compared to a colour change.

If the damage is minor, you could always get a smart repair done.
