Ugly 147 exhaust back box

my 147 exhaust back box is not far from needing replaced and if there is one thing that detracts from the look of the 147 its the back box. Any of you out there know of any good alternatives, don't want noise just looks.

Get a csc oval exhaust from E B spares, Westbury, Wilts for £162, they are brilliant looking (see their web site piccy) I got one, it allows the engine to breathe better without noise.

Re: Ugly 147 exhaust back box

I replaced mine about a month ago - 18 months after first thinking it needed replacing!

Is your rusted 'outer' skin crumbling? If so, you can always cut this off to reveal a normally healthy inner skin! This was recommended by my Indie when I initially mentioned the problem. The outer skin rusts as soon as it rains.

My new box, probably a pattern part, cost me about £85, fitted. Bit of a surprise really.

I extended the life of the old box by cutting off the rusty bits to reveal the inner skin, then painting it with heat resistant paint. Looked much better and mean't I could spend my hard earned money on the other things that were going wrong (suspension, power steering, Cat......).

60% of the time it works everytime.
