well I had a whole day of it today under the bonnet trying to change the sidelights- drivers side easy -
but came to the passenger side and previous owner must have broke off the tab!!..
well.. many swear words and bruised knuckles later I decided to bite the bullet and spend some money-
so walked to Halfrauds and Focus DIY and got me my very own 147 side light changing kit!!.. as below.. yes cost me about £12 all in all but hey I did the job in 5 mins - serious- 5 minutes piece of cake..
and they will come in handy for anything and everything on my car and my motorbike..
I had been messing all day with the mrs make up mirror and long nose pliers- screwdrivers and everything-
the little LED light is ace !. just used it for lookin under the seat at the air bag connectors- it clips on or indeed you can hold it easy in your mouth..
£3 for the long handled flexible mirror at Halfords..
£4.99 for the LED clip on light - including batteries
£6 for the long handled pliers..
I already have 3 pairs of long handled pliers but had them over 20 years- just goes to show how they wear down and dont come together properly over the years..
oh yea it helps if you remove the 2 screws holding on the "felt" type protector cover to the right of the battery- can get your hands in easier then
truly- for the sake of the cash spend I could have saved a whole day !!..
really really made a differnece - 5 mins to change a side light that had no handle on it as snapped off- I hear of bumpers and wheels and wheel arches being removed in the past to get the whole headlight out
hope it helps
