156 2.5 24v V6 '99 or '00.
Always a big fan of Alfas I am tempted going for it.
So I need the forums advice on:
- What do I need to check before buying it ?
- Cambelt, Every when do I change ?
- Is the 156 2.5 a car that will make me the best friend with the local mechanic ?
- How thirsty is it ?
- What different editions are out there and which one I should go for ?
- Do you like the car ?
Many many thanks guys !
As with all the other replies, you need to check its mechanical history and be sure all the bits have been done.
Check for clutch slip / drag, corrosion on the rads etc.
I'm selling mine fairly soon, Silver 2000 on a V, with 91k on the clock.
Black momo leather, 16" teldials, side skirts.
Not quite as cheap as you've seen, but everythings been done;
.One owner from new with FARSH
.Timing belt & water pump done at 72k
.Just serviced inc fresh gearbox oil
.4 new Goodyear eagle F1's on refurbished alloys
.New clutch (valeo), battery, both rads, thermostat, front shocks, top wishbones, Oxygen (lambda) sensor - all just fitted.
Will be looking for £2600, which is cheap considering its upkeep.
You will love the V6, a shear pleasure to drive!!
