before you do any calibration open the 12mm hex hex bung from the top of the actuator & place a 6" extension into the eye of the internal gear liankage, there is approx 6mm of depth to keep it in place.
placing the laptop on the engine cover & then using alfadiag activate the LOW GEAR selection, you should see the extension drop down by 10mm & then spring back up to the original height.
I actually placed some tape around the shaft of the extension just above the opening to aid a visual inspection as it moved.
when that is complete, & you have seen it moving then do HIGH GEAR selection test.
the 6" extension should pop UP by 10mm................. if its ok you should hear a good solid CLUNK.
..... if you hear one faint click followed by 4 more very faint clicks then the geal linkage has come away form the piston.
The piston can push down the linkage & the spring in the gearbox pushes the gear selector back to 3rd/4th gear position [ mid gear selection ] BUT it needs the piston to pull the gear selector UP to 5th & reverse.
With some difficultly I was able to remove the 6 T20 screws, using a mirror & lamp, & then realign the piston/cam
a tip, remove the rear sensor & place a small allen key in thro the hole to lock the cam at a 10 o'clock position
