[UK] Do I need to call Alfa UK to register my imported car with them ?

Is it something that needs to be done ? I know that with some brand you need to call the UK head office to have the car on the computer system in case of recalls, etc.. what about with Alfas ?

When I imported my last 156 it needed a new fusebox cover. When I took it in for fitting they asked for the waranty certificate, which they entered details of into the system. Try phoning them and ask!?!

I did inform them, they returned my letter with a polite note to say I was on their system now.
It can't harm to do it.

IanM - where did you send the letter to?

I phoned up Alfa UK to register mine and they told me to send a copy of my V5 to them to ensure I was registered for recalls. I did that and heard nothing and when I rang up no one had a clue on who I should to speak to and so could not confirm if I was on their list or not.

This was around Nov/Dec 2002.

I am having a few problems myself.

See this thread

My local dealer is trying to sort things out with Alfa, they sent a copy of my V5 to them this week.
