Hard to describe, but will do my best....
When you open the tailgate and look down there is a cutout which the tailgate lock sits into when shut. Under the plastic panel is a solenoid that is tripped by the remote and is meant to pull the lever for the tailgate and allow it to pop open.
The solenoid has a small circular hole that the arm from the lever is meant to sit in. Because the solenoid can rotate, the arm often pops out, jamming the cable release from inside the car and jamming the remote opening, so you have to use the key to open the tailgate.
Not brialliantly clear, but until I get a digital camera, no diagrams available!
Thanks for any suggestions
