I bought a 2.0TS Sele saloon in November; it's 2000 W reg, had 58k on and no belt change.
Cost me £1600 to buy, about £800 for cam belt, water pump, variator, front n/s wishbone, 60k service and gives me about 32 mpg on a similar mileage to what you're looking at; mix of 40 mile daily commute with 1 or 2 200+ mile journeys a week.
Uses no oil, only minor fault I've had was needing a seat airbag switch reset which my local Indy did for £35.
Like you I like having the sele for the commuting crawl. Took a little bit of getting used to after a conventional auto box, but it's worth it -)
