Re: 156 Oil Cap missing
quick update and really ****ed off.
I went with the members better judgement and did not drive the car once I discovered the oil cap missing when I wrote on here.
Looked on ebay but couldn't find one, but found Autolusso advert in Bedord selling other parts and that they had other parts in stock - also recalled the name mentioned on these boards as trusted.
Rang Autolusso on Wednesday, spoke to Lawrence and was quoted £10 delivered. further enquired on a petrol cap - as the rubber strap holding it to the pterol flap had snapped on mine and was quoted an extra £5 and that these would be posted first class.
Received packet 1st class recorded on Thursday, postage franked to £2.06 which contained only the petrol cap (wrapped in bubble wrapand masking tape). I rang Autolusso, spoke to Lawrence enquiring if they were sending two separate pieces of post for each item. He said no that both were in the same packet as he had posted them. well I said they were not and that the packet was sealed and not opened, until I opened it - there was sealing tape over the envelope flap. He took my details again on Thursday to post the oil cap out.
In the meantome I went to affix the petrol cap and when fixing the loop onto the petrol cap spindle found that it was broken - who ever had taken it off another car had just yanked it off the flap as opposed to unhooking it. anyway I used the good bit of my previous strap and tied a knot around the one That I was sent and have worked something out so that it now dangles of the spindle.
On Friday post was deliered and no Oil Cap. I rang Lawarence to enquire about postage and hes said that he did not post it recorded this time but probably first class.
Saturday today I have not received in Post. have been without car and have been arranging lifts and borrowing cars of others to get to work and do things to the annoyance and incovenience of others- and I need to go to south wales for work on Monday from birmingham, which I though would be sorted out by then.
I can't believe the crap customer service. providing parts even a plastic cap, they should have realised what the use is for. It's not as I was purchasing a cosmetic fin or grill but something that is integral to the functioning of the car and they should have ensured prompt despatch. Customer service is not about getting what you asked for but the intangible processes around that.
I would have happily given then an extra 70p so that they sent it recorded. Now I may get it on monday but this has all knocked my schedule 5 days out week.
Wish I'd gone to the dealers and bought one for £15 , i'd be sorted the same day- I could have lived without the petrol cap.
I won't be using those c**** again.
