I had the same question.
In certain area's in my city there are a lot kids driving scooter's who try to open your backdoor, grab something, and take of into another direction while you are standing quietly at a traffic light.
I asked the dealer but they told me it couldn't be done. So it's back to the brain and your hand wink
Usually I tend to look the doors, specially at night. As Cradinal said it's easy to get ripped off by someone on foot or by bike. This days, the traffic lights can be a "good" trap here. There's always someone asking for something there. And with kids as George said, even if the door looks automatically, children have a surprising capacity to do the unthinkable.
But I prefer that my brain/hand controls the look.
But if you're thinking about that Spiider, I don't thing it would be soooooo difficult. The trunk door closes at a certain speed. You can press the button but she wont open (as you probably already tried). That system could work also on the other doors. Or not?

The system on the Audi is designed in such a way that once you pass 25mph the doors lock themselves (inc the boot) and stay locked. If you disarm the doors (by pressing the button or pulling one door handle) it will not lock itself any further. Also in case of a crash (or once u turn the engine off) the locks are released automatically and you can open the doors...
It's true that I could always press the lock button on my 147.. but I tend to forget.... :-) Would be nice to have it done for me...
