Lowering a 147 on 225/40/R18 alloys

I recently bought some new 225/40/R18's alloys. The car's done about 30k now, am needing news shocks & want to lower it a little bit. My only worry is if Iím dopping it on this size wheel it might foul the arch when Iím putting on a decent amount of lock. Anyone know if thatís the case or do I have nothing to worry about? Also can anyone recommend a full spring / damper etc kit thatís quite good for 18's and not too much $$

Re: Lowering a 147 on 225/40/R18 alloys

I had to roll the rear arches on mine and the fronts catch the arch lines despite having a GTA rack which has a larger turning circle. Offset will affect things too...

Re: Lowering a 147 on 225/40/R18 alloys

as above, what is the offset of the wheel, and what width is the wheel?

FWIW, my 156 had 18x7.5" wheels, offset +38mm, 225/40 tyres, lowered on Eibach Pro Kit. tiniest bit of rub at full lock AND with suspension compressed (eg: driving into steep driveway).

on my GT, 8.5" wide wheels, offset +35mm, 225/35/19 tyres, Eibach Pro Kit springs, no rub.

i think you'll only have rub if the offset is not suitable for the wheel-width.
