Re: What does a body computer do?
Probably not, check and clean the earth point in the boot for the rear light clusters, then see if the lights still on, if so, then check and clean the earth point for the MBC (Main Body Computer), and check the light again, if it's still on then yes, replacing the MBC is the only option, as unlike the 156 the 147s light out sensing circuit is in this computer and the circuit has burnt out, until you replace the computer and connect/introduce it to the immobiliser ECU it will leave a tail light on constantly which will eventually flaten your battery, the oher option is to remove this bulb which glows every time you park up and refit it again before you drive off, this will prevent the battery going flat and save the alarm from going off for no reason (normally at 3AM) and leaving you appologising to the nieghbours because you can't stop it.
