Help Jerky Selespeed

Right, i've been offered a 2002 156 2.0 JTS Sillyspeed with 57k and FSH for 1k, now for the bad news, the car has just started jerking while pulling away, it drives perfectly when cold and starts to jerk when warm, described to me as like continously dipping the clutch fastly. the owner has had someone sit on the skuttle panel while he drove slowly and he could see the "gear selector linkage" moving in and out rapidly. what could be the cause of this and some idea of the costs involved would be nice or possibly not

thanks pete.

Re: Jerky Selespeed

Exact symptoms as the worst case I mentioned in the PM, I'll let others see if they get close.

But driving slowly it will do that to prevent stalling.

Re: Jerky Selespeed

Been thinking about this since the PM.....and taking into account Smaky's comments....if the throttle sensor is playing up allowing the revs to drop that could be creating the issue - or indeed any other sensor that makes the pooter think the engine is about to cut....

Get a manual...
