It depends how you term consumption. and if your checking the level correctly.
The manual gives a very precise method which should be followed.
But Selespeeds are a gravity fed system, and as suckh have the downfall of a vent pipe to overboard, this means that should you overfill the reservior then the syatem will dump the unwanted excess fluid out and down the inside of your N/S wing. There are many posts on this, but I'll go on, many people are now fiting a catch pot to the overflow pipe on the sele lid, this shows you how much is being dumped and if your worried about leaks on the actuator often proves that there is none as all the fluid turns up in the pot.
