ALFA 156

alarm key

I have a 156 JTD and the key I normally use wouldn't deactivate the alarm for me. Had to get the spare key which worked fine. Why would one key stop working

Re: alarm key

Sounds like you have an internal fault with the key, check the battery first,if that's ok,you will need a new key,

Re: alarm key

The circuits on certain black keys suffer from various failures (hey, they are Alfa keys!). The most common problem is a switch falling off but if your red led is still flashing ok then it can be one of the common breaks on the circuit board. Very hard to spot unless you have the testing gear and it helps if you know where to look to start with as each style of circuit board has a different weak spot (and there are at least 8 styles). The style of key without an led is really annoying as you can't see what is going on, but these keys can be adapted to have a led fitted to the circuit board which is a very popular mod with my customers.
