Today i was mostly trying to fit my new head lamp bulbs and swap my paper air filter for my BMC one.
Well it has not gone well.
Firstly i was unable to turn the cap at the back of the lense, then when i did it, you just cant see to do anything
So they can wait for warmer days or service time.
Next on to the filter, how hard can that be.
I tried always to get a socket down on to filter box top but everything that Alfa could put in the way they have.
I tried to find where the bolts were that hold the relay tray on, er no
I tried to pull off the pipe from the airbox, er no
So again this ones for the service.
After that i pottered on cleaning the engine bay and turned over the engine...
Now since getting this car, my first Diesel i havnt REALLY got used to the engine noice, Rattle Rattle Rattle
But this time there was a new rattle...... i tracked it down to around the airbox, and when i held the airbox it stopped
It wasnt coming from the top or the middle but underneath,
i reached through a gap in the undertray to find its the plastic feed pipe that vents air into the box
its rattling around the mouth of the box, I took out the fog lamp and was able to move the pipe quite easily but not make it tight.
My thoughts were of super glue but i stopped myself and wedged some rolled up tissue against the pipe side.
It did the job, but again this shall be left to service time
It seems the days of doing little DIY jobs on the car on your drive are getting less and less.
