Alfa 147 JTD Air flow meter advice

I'm new to this forum and hoping I can get some advice on an air flow meter question.

I have a 2004 147 JTD 1.9 Lusso.
The power had dropped so I took it to the local backstreet garage that I've used a few times and he suspected the air flow meter. When he rang he confirmed it was the air flow meter and that there were two different types for my engine type. He said it would either cost me 130+vat or 185+vat and he could let me know as soon as they whippe dit off the car.

I did a bit of googling following that, and as far as I can see, there is only the one type of aair flow meter for my model. I could only find a few references on the was a bosch model for 160 (incl vat)
Alfa Romeo 147 Airflow Meters
The other was a cheaper model from worldparts costing only 78.20 (incl.)
Alfa Rome 147 GT Fiat Air Flow Meter 0280218120

I spoke to the garage owner again and he said he would advise against 'the mickey mouse one' but if I wanted to buy it he would be happy to fit it for me.

So, my questions are...
1) is ther only one type of airflow meter for a 147 (2004) 1.9 jtd 1910cc?
2) would you guys recommend against the cheaper model and buy a bosch one or would you risk the cheaper model?
3) are they easy to fit? (I'm okay with basic mechanics).

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure on the type variables, but the advise on not fitting a 'cheapo'' is correct IMO

Re: Alfa 147 JTD Air flow meter advice

I had one fitted before Xmas and it cost me £200! I would advise against buying never pays in the long run. The Meter did change all performance for the better.
