EM light on, but no noticable problems...
Well last night on my way home from work, i was at around 70 on the motorway when i heard a beep and was presented with 'motor control system failure' and the yellow engine management light on. I immediately feared the worst and pulled over. Couldn't see, or hear anything that suggested a problem, started the engine again and was again presented with the error. drove home and had no issues, everything seems fine as if it was maybe a false code?
I've only owned the car since Tuesday and having traced some of the service stamps and called the stoke based dealer it had its 36 thou service at (platts) it never had the belt done so obviously this will be done in the next week or so, but in the meantime what should i do about this error code? i've heard people just say reset the ECU and leave it at that, what's the best course of action?
Not wanting to aggravate the situation i'm in the missus mini cooper today but the sooner i can sort the alfa the better.
