I have had my car checked by a dealer and they said the oil useage is within the tolerances they allow,as did Autodelta.
It depends how you drove the car when new,how you drive it now,what oil is used and what state of tune its in.
Alfa UK accept that SOME engines can run as high as a litre per 1000kms.Unless you know something they dont?
I agree this level is high,and there could be a problem,but that level of useage is not *rubbish* for a standard car,never mind a tuned one.There are too many variables for you to dismiss an opinion as rubbish imo,particuarly when i have had this useage checked out by 2 dealers and a respected tuner.
and i aslo used RS 10w60</strong><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sorry Dave but I beg to differ - my argument was that this is "acceptable" - any car that goes through 1L every 1000km would be handed straight back to the dealer if I had ended up with it.
I also maintain that this isn't rocket science - there WILL be a reason why a car is consuming more oil...it's just a matter of finding the reason.
Did they give you any idea of where this oil is going?!
