Re: GT - A paragon of reliability?
Quite an interesting read this.
I bought mine exactly 1 year ago as a birthday present for myself (it was my birthday on Monday). It's a 55 plate 1.9 jtdm in black with grey leather, parking sensors and 17's, it had 60400 miles on the clock when I picked it up and I paid 11k for it. (that was quite cheap at the time).
I would say it is probably worth between 7 and 7.5k now so lost 4k, on top of that I have been paying £273 a month for the loan so thats another 3k over the year.
Had it serviced and the cambelt done 2 weeks in, and just had another service done last month.
As of today it on 78k.
problems so far;
Parking sensors packed up within a week. Couldn't figure out what was wrong, so disconnected the speaker.
I had the front wheel bearing replaced mid last year, but came back again, so put a complete front hub on it this time.
Lots of squeaks, dash binacle, parcel shelf, seats (various places).
Peeling paint on 1 alloy
Clutch pedal clip thing snapped coming off the M25 about 2 months ago, still squeaks with new clip fitted.
EGR valve stuck in the closed position, booked into local dealer for replacement £211.18.
lower boost hose split last Friday night
Side light bulb went.
Occasional ABS/VDC failure warning message
Character is what you have left when you've lost everything you can lose.
