OK I give in....... Local Idepentant Specialist in Liverpool Area?
Ok so after 2 weeks off the road. In that time I've done the following
Near Rear O/S Brake Calliper
Brake Discs & Pads rear
New RH Long Handbrake cable
Seems like a lot more due to all the little things that have delayed it each time I've tried to work on her....
I took her out for a nice quiet drive last night and she was perfect. The brakes are very spongy but was going to get Kwik Fit or someone to check the bleeding as I guess the EZbleed kit just isnt all its cracked up to be or theres some pocket of air refusing to come out of hiding.
I used her properly for the first time today in traffic, all seemed fine for a couple of hours until I pulled up into the local retail park, car park, got out and there's steam coming from under the bonnet!!!!
Jumped back inside and sure enough temp gauge is up way past the 3/4 mark!!!
Left it for an hour, bought some pre-mix pink coolant from Halfords (luckily across the car park!) went back to check levels and its empty of coolant. Filled up to max line again after having let it cool, drove the 2 or 3 miles home, on the way temp gauge is working perfectly even sitting at lights. Gets to 90, Stat kicks in and it drops 2 or 3 degrees... As I'm pulling into the car park at home the gauge goes up past 90 and is just gonna keeping going past the 3/4 again... A quick look underneath sees my new pink coolant ****ing onto the gravel!!!
So I give up, time for a specialist who knows what he's doing to take over.
Any recommendations of good, inexpensive indies in the Liverpool / Merseyside area that can take a look and see what I've obviously f***ed up???
